The English system, as it applies in East Sussex
Renting a new home in East Sussex? In England, most private tenancies are now assured periodic tenancies with no fixed end date, and since 1 May 2026 landlords can no longer use section 21 no-fault evictions. New-build buyers usually receive a structural warranty and buy through exchange of contracts and completion, paying Stamp Duty Land Tax where it is due. Land to Homes has no homes for sale or rent yet, but you can register your interest.
In England, buyers usually pay Stamp Duty Land Tax and the purchase is registered with HM Land Registry. Many developers register with the New Homes Quality Board and follow its code. New homes must meet the Building Regulations, and estates often carry management charges where roads or open space are not adopted, so check these before reserving.

Questions about New-Build Homes for Sale in East Sussex
How does registering interest work?
You give us your contact details, the areas you are interested in, the type and size of home you need and your rough timing. We use that to contact you about relevant new homes and to understand demand when we plan sites. It is free, it is not a reservation and you can ask us to remove your details at any time.
What is the New Homes Quality Code?
The New Homes Quality Code is a code of practice set by the New Homes Quality Board, an independent body. Developers who register with the board agree to follow it, covering marketing, reservations, handover and after-sales service, and their buyers can usually take unresolved complaints to the New Homes Ombudsman Service. The framework currently covers England, Scotland and Wales.
Does Land to Homes have any new homes for sale?
Not yet. Land to Homes is a new venture and has no homes, developments or plots for sale or reservation at the moment. You can register interest with the area and type of home you want, and we will contact you if we bring forward homes that match. We never ask for a deposit to register interest.
What does the New Homes Ombudsman Service do?
It handles complaints from buyers of new homes built by developers registered with the New Homes Quality Board, once the developer's own complaints process has been used. It can direct a registered developer to put things right. Buyers should check whether a developer is registered before reserving, because the service only covers registered developers.
Are there new homes available in East Sussex now?
Not yet. Land to Homes has no homes available in East Sussex at the moment. You can register your interest for East Sussex, and we will contact you if we bring homes forward there or nearby.
